Terms and conditions for the preparation of the Kasetsart University Knowledge Repository

1. Scopes and types of works stored in Kasetsart University Knowledge Repository

Works produced by Kasetsart University staff and offices/division in any year of publication are eligible: books, textbooks, research reports, publications, academic articles, teaching materials, materials used in academic conferences/seminars, journals, videos, digital media, and archive materials.

2. A depositor is required to do the following

  2.1 Submit the works on the system according to international standards. Submission can be done in the following manners.

  2.1.1 In each of the Faculties/Schools/Offices/Divisions, a person is assigned the task of submission the data via the KUKR Dataentry system and uploading full text files, and the rights and permission form signed in writing by the creator(s) of the works. Before submission the works on the system, the person is required to notify his/her name, last name, and nontri account, so that the Library can authorize the person. Once authorized, the person can submit the works on the system.

  2.1.2 The depositor can submit the work by himself/herself via the input system for creative works KUKR Input using his/her Nontri account to log in.

 2.2 Upload a full text file of the work according to the required form (details can be found in Digital File Management Manual). If there is not a complete file, the depositor/owner of the work must scan the work or convert it into a digital file before submission it on the system.

 2.3 Set the rights according to the dissemination form and grant the rights to the Library in disseminating the works in the Kasetsart University Knowledge Repository, exchanging and connect the works/data with national and international information systems, modifying and revising metadata digital files according to the standards of the repository.

3. The Library does the following

 3.1 Manage the data by checking the quality against the international standards, checking the full text files, and permission for dissemination in Kasetsart University Knowledge Repository. If the depositor fails to meet any of the conditions, the Library will return the data to the depositor for revision. Once revised, the data will be disseminated in the repository service system. The Library reserve the rights to cancel the storage and dissemination of the data if they are not the works or the output of Kasetsart University.

 3.2 Disseminate the data via the service system. The Library will disseminate the data according to the rights and permission set and granted by the depositor:

  • dissemination of bibliography only
  • dissemination of bibliography and the complete document in pdf
  • dissemination of books in eBook format
  • dissemination of within Kasertsart University only (KU Only)

In the case of works that have a copyright agreement with a publisher, or works the patent of which is pending, the depositor can specify the year for the work to be disseminated so that the system will automatically show the data as set.

 3.3 The Library is responsible for digital preservation. Data are stored, backed up, and transferred. The depositor will submit the works on the system to follow the international standards and permission to the library to store the full text document files or digitization. File management will follow the digital media standards and the terms of digital file format for the preservation of information and be able to access information in the long term and be sustainable. In this regard, the preservation of information in the Kasetsart University Knowledge Repository will operate as long as the Kasetsart University Knowledge Repository is still standing or the depositor requests to remove information from the system.

 3.4 The Library on Bangkhen campus works collaboratively with the libraries in the other three campuses to develop Kasetsart University Knowledge Repository. As the coordinator for the Kasetsart University Knowledge Repository development project, the Library on Bangkhen campus collects and stores the works into Kasetsart University Knowledge Repository in collaboration with the Faculties/Schools/Offices/Divisions on Bangkhen campus. The other three campus libraries collect and store the works of the Faculties/Schools/Offices/ Divisions on their corresponding campus into Kasetsart University Knowledge Repository under the campus section.

4. Access

Users of Kasetsart University Knowledge Repository can access the works of Kasetsart University via https://kukr.lib.ku.ac.th

5. Use

Users can access and search all of the works of Kasetsart University from Kasetsart University Knowledge Repository. An access to bibliography, reading the data files, and a download are possible depending on the rights and permission set and granted by the owner.

6. Use and dissemination

Kasetsart University Knowledge Repository provides services under Creative Commons. The content in the repository follows the Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 International). Exemptions depend on each of the items; such exemptions follow the rights and permission set and granted by the owner of that particular item.
